What are “Low-Code” Websites?

Low Code Software Development Platform Technology Concept

What:

A low-code website is a website that doesn’t require lots of hand-by-hand coding. It’s a simple website that doesn’t need much effort. Instead of traditional coding, it’s more visual than text and uses a drag-and-drop interface, with little backend coding.

Why:

The reason low-code websites are made is simple. Customers have high expectations and deadlines are near. The traditional coding way takes lots of time and effort and isn’t good for when you get a week to make a platform/website/app. With a low-code website, developers don’t have to spend as much time as they would with a normal website. Backend programming takes a while. Also, when it comes to apps, it’s easier to make frequent updates to apps when you don’t have to worry about messing up code.

Another reason why the low-coding technique is used is because there is a shortage of developers. Even if you wanted to use the usual technique, it would take even longer with a smaller team working on it. When you have a few people working on something, you want to use something that is more efficient but still works and fulfills the platform’s purpose and customer expectations.
Alongside lack of time or developers, lack of money plays a part in why low code is used so often. You really can’t do anything with a lack of resources.

Difference between low-code and no-code:

This post is about low-code, but one thing people commonly confuse low-code with is no-code. Low-code is different from no-code because while low-code is less coding than normal coding, no-code (as it says in the name) is no coding at all.
Low-code is used by professionals as a way to save time, and money, and be more efficient. People with little to no coding experience/knowledge can use no code.
As previously mentioned, low code has little backend coding, while no code has literally none. Low-code can give teams flexibility, while no-code is a bit more restrictive. Since I know I’m getting repetitive, just know that low-code is just less of normal code while no-code just has none.

Summary:

In summary, low-code websites are websites that have little coding and use a drag-and-drop interface. They’re used by developers for the sake of time, money, and overall efficiency. Low-code is different from similar no-coding websites/apps because of the amount of experience needed to complete them, the flexibility that comes with both styles and the amount of work that goes into it.
